The staff and collaborators of the Department of Underwater Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw invite you to the 2nd Warsaw Forum on Underwater Archaeology. The conference will take place this weekend, 14 – 15 January 2017, in Warsaw, in the building of the Main School of the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw and the Column Hall of the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw (26/28 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street).
This is the second meeting of underwater archaeologists to be held in Warsaw. This time, researchers from all over the world (including Australia, Nigeria, Iran, Italy, Norway, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Poland) have registered to exchange their experiences at the conference forum. The planned papers concern field and cabinet research, refer to the latest technological achievements and their influence on the methodology of underwater research and present the activities of academic and museum centres in the field of protection of underwater cultural heritage. The meeting was held under the patronage of the UNESCO Unitwin Network for Underwater Archaeology group, of which the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw has been a member since 2014.
