When the ship ran aground on the rocky coastline, there were 4229 passengers on board the Costa Concordia, from 60 countries. The chaos surrounding the evacuation operation was enormous and the search and rescue operation was hampered by the size of the vessel.

The Concordia, which had 17 decks, was one of the most famous maritime disasters in recent years. The circumstances of the wreck and incidents such as the theft of the ship’s bell caused a lot of noise.
