As part of Extreme Breitling, renowned freediver Herbert Nitsch is aiming to break the world record in the No Limits competition. However, the AIDA judges will not take part in the record attempt. This is due to a dispute over Suunto’s sponsorship. What does this mean in practice? Nothing more and nothing less than that, although the record will be broken, it will not be unsanctioned and counted in any AIDA international rankings.

While preparing for the actual dive, Nitsch is doing successive training sessions, and their results probably surprise even himself. Such conclusions can be drawn from the fact that during his last attempt, he decided to dive deeper than assumed, which in the end led him to 196m!

On this occasion, it is worth mentioning that Herbert Nitsch is following a plan to be able to break all records and exceed all limits by reaching a depth of 300m while holding his breath. If he succeeds, he will bring freediving into the next era, where nothing is impossible.
