On 24 February this year, in the deepest pool in Poland – the 7-metre diving tube in the Aquadrome complex in Ruda Śląska – an unusual freediving competition will be held. “One Breath Time” is the only competition in Poland where participants will experience static breath-holding at depth!

The contestant’s task is to dive to a minimum depth of 3 metres and stay there as long as he can in order to achieve the longest possible diving time on one breath. At the appropriate time the competitor must surface alone and perform the surface procedure. The technique of diving and ascending is free, but the use of any equipment is prohibited. Freedivers are therefore not allowed to use goggles, a nose clip or mask, nor are they allowed to use weight, wetsuit, wetsuit or swimsuit to cover larger areas of the body.

The competition will be held in a cup system, so for each pair of competitors competing together, one person will qualify for the next round – and so on until a winner is determined.

You can watch the competition both from the surface and through windows in the walls of the pool.

The competition is organised by the Freediving Association of Poland and the Aquadrom Diving Academy.
