Family May Day at the Narie Scuba Club diving base - report

On 2 May, in Kretowiny on Lake Narie, the official opening of the Narie Scuba Club diving base took place, accompanied by a sports and diving picnic.

The picnic organised at the Narie Scuba Club diving base attracted the attention of the diving community and guests of the surrounding resorts as well as the inhabitants of Morąg, Ostróda and nearby towns. In addition to activities for diving enthusiasts, the organisers also prepared attractions for children and adults. The event was held under the patronage of the vice mayor of Morąg, Mr Leszek Biernacki.

Experienced divers could take advantage of promotional prices for diving equipment from the exhibitors present on site. Beginners had the opportunity to go through the diving “intro” – that is the first time under water with an experienced instructor, while “divers” and the youngest divers could enjoy many attractions on the surface.

The picnic started with the opening of the playground, face painting of children and soap bubbles. This was followed by an outdoor Darts tournament with prizes for the winners. Firefighters from the Voluntary Fire Brigade in Żabi Rog presented a fire engine, which was a great attraction for younger and older participants of the Picnic. During the event, several yachts from the Morąg Sailing Club – Keja came to the pier and provided guests with attractions under sail. Representatives of the Polish Red Cross from Ostróda also came in large numbers and presented a demonstration of first aid.

Apart from actively spending time, each participant could taste delicious food in the newly opened BazaR restaurant and relax on the bank of the wonderfully calm and awakening from winter dormancy Narie Lake in the rays of spring sunshine, which was exceptionally kind to us that day.

So it’s time to start a new season, catching the “wind in the sails”, or rather filling up the diving cylinders!
