On Tuesday, July 19, at around 7 pm, emergency services received a report of a missing diver. Rescuers arriving at the scene began a search for the missing man. Two firefighting units and rescuers from the Water Volunteer Rescue Service combed the waters of the lake.

The Water Volunteer Rescue Service has been asked to help because of equipment support; specialized sonar for underwater work to help find the person. The water in the Emerald is of limited visibility, so that the descent of rescuers is also safe informed Franciszek Golinski of the Szczecin Fire Department.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man was last seen after 2 p.m. He left his belongings on the shore and went diving alone. Concerned witnesses alerted emergency services around 7 pm.

Unfortunately, the search that began did not yield results. Due to conditions that made it impossible to continue, rescuers stopped the operation around 10:30 p.m. The search for the missing diver resumed with the arrival of the next day. At this point there is still no information on the results.

The water in Emerald Lake does not make the lifeguards’ task any easier. Limited visibility means that they must mainly rely on sonar equipment

Update:

At 11 a.m., divers from SGRW-N retrieved the corpse of a missing diver from the lake.
