Egypt – one of the most popular diving destinations in the world, after the coronavirus pandemic reopens for diving tourists. The seaside resorts, unnaturally glowing with emptiness recently, will reopen on 1 July 2020, awaiting lovers of diving in the Red Sea.

Air and tourist traffic will be restored for the time being only in the coastal regions, where, according to the authorities, far fewer cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported and the situation therefore already seems to be under control.

With the planned loosening of restrictions, the curfew has also been reduced and from Sunday, streets will only be closed between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. The possibility of opening temples on July 1, in inland governorates, will also be explored, provided there are not too many cases of the virus in the region.

The governorates that have recorded the highest rates of people infected with coronavirus are Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia, while the governorates on the Red Sea coast, Matrouh and South Sinai have the lowest rates of identified cases.
