Last weekend, divers from all over Poland gathered in Gdynia for the 7th time to take part in the Eco Diving Day together with their loved ones. The action, organised by the “Ticada” Diving Centre and co-organisers, is one of the largest events of this type and one of the highlights of the autumn diving season in the Tri-City!

This year’s Eco Diving Day involved 131 divers and 60 staff. The divers cleaned up the underwater part of the marina, 5 boats with divers also went outside the marina.

Among the items pulled out were: cans, bottles, tyres, batteries, a rubbish bin and many other items, often difficult to identify.

} );

The campaign was also supported by companies and institutions which set up their own stands in the marina, including the WP Divers and Scuba Divers Training Centre, Formoza, the Shore Rescue Group, the University of Gdansk, the Gdynia Aquarium, Ocean Pro, Santi Diving and the State Fire Service.

It is worth noting the very positive fact that the number of litter pick-ups is decreasing every year. This means that during the last 7 years of the event, it has been possible to significantly influence not only what lies under water, but also people’s awareness.
