The Costa Concordia shipwrecked off the coast of Tuscany has fallen victim to looters and thieves, according to Italian authorities. The ship, which has been aground since 13 January 2012, has been under investigation for a long time, but it was not without its blunders.

In the first half of May, the ship’ s distinctive bell disappeared from the ship. The loss was all the greater because it was planned to use it as a memorial to the victims of the Concordia and the sacrificial help of the coastal residents.

Now police divers have reported a broken window in a jewellery shop from which jewellery and expensive watches were stolen. However, these are not the only losses. Over a period of ten months, a ship’s bell, paintings, furniture and a whole lot of trinkets were stolen, among other things.

The Italian police are looking for the perpetrators of all these incidents As you can see from the bell case, a group of several people must be involved in the whole operation. So it must leave a lot to be thought about if a group of divers can appear and disappear without trace.
