It is enough to drive only 230 km from Warsaw and even less, i.e. 130 km from Tricity, to enjoy shoals of perch, clear water and wonderful views on the surface. The peninsula and the village of Kretowiny is a revitalised diving spot which the Narie Scuba Club diving base invites you to visit.

The base is located on the premises of the recreation centre “Krecik” in the village of Kretowiny (Morąg commune). The base building was renovated after the summer season in 2014 and now, to get to the lake you only need to go down a few steps. Thanks to the proximity of the car park as well as the accommodation base, visiting divers do not have to carry their equipment far. If necessary, it is also possible to rent equipment on site.

The lake itself has an area of almost 1300 hectares. The depth exceeds 40 m in places and the water is classified as Class II clean. In the summer season, visibility is about 3-4 m, and in the off-season, “visibility” exceeds 6 m. There are 19 islands scattered around the area, and one of them, Goła Kępa, is located opposite the Narie Scuba Club base. The flora surrounding the island creates an underwater landscape unparalleled in Polish lakes.

There are 3 underwater platforms in the immediate vicinity of the base. The deepest of them is located at a depth of 10 m, so it is an excellent training site. The interesting shape of the bottom also allows you to improve your compass skills, which can be quite a challenge for some.

Having crossed the water surface, you may encounter such fish as pike, tench, whitefish, roach, burbot, bream, eel, catfish, rudd and perch swimming in large shoals near Gołej Kępa. Patient fishermen can count on sizable zanders, and the best proof of the purity of the lake water is the presence of crayfish.

The Narie Scuba Club base provides its visitors with a full package of services that we would expect from a modern, well-organised diving site. There are boats and kayaks at the visitors’ disposal, with which we can make an initial reconnaissance of the area, or simply relax between dives.

On site we can rent diving equipment or improve our qualifications under the supervision of an experienced instructor. In addition, at the base there is a restaurant with delicious local food and a cosy hotel renovated this year with several beds. In short, everything a diver and his companions need to be happy.

From May, the base is open all week and a diving instructor is available on site at all times. In the low season, you can make an appointment with the owners to dive on a particular date. For those for whom 40 metres on the Nar is not enough, trips to the nearby Lake Wuksniki, offering depths of almost 70 m, are organised.

People who visit the Narie Scuba Club and do not have any diving experience can use the diving intro option. Also for such people, Kretowiny will be a very attractive place to rest. In the vicinity of the Narie River, there are forests, beautiful walking and cycling trails, a horse stud, a windsurfing school and, on the other side of the peninsula, a beach with a small boat house.

Thanks to the commitment of the owners of the Narie Scuba Club, after a few years of stagnation the area is now teeming with life again. If you are planning a diving trip, it is worth taking your family or a group of friends for an unforgettable outing to the Polish lakes.
