SSI has for a long time been leading a very intensive activities on many fronts. All this in order to convince the potential customer that it is with them that he will find what he is looking for. According to the announcement, the new specialisation is supposed to be an innovation that will help to bridge the gap between recreational diving and Extended Range (XR) training. Decompression diving, is an excellent opportunity for recreational divers to become familiar with a more advanced form of diving, without having to become a technical diver.

This introductory course in decompression diving is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to independently plan and conduct this type of dive. All with the use of traditional or sidemount recreational equipment or sidemount.

The training programme allows dives to a maximum depth of 40 m. The maximum total decompression time is only 15 minutes. As the programme is a recreational specialisation, it will strictly follow the standards and procedures of recreational training.

The new specialisation, Decompression Diving, is only available to divers diving with a single cylinder or in a sidemount configuration. It is not intended to replace Extended Range Nitrox training, which is conducted using a twinset.
