Soon, on 24 November, on the eve of the famous Baltictech Diving Conference, there will be a meeting with the world’s largest diver insurance organisation, DAN. Divers Alert Network was established in the 1980s, thanks to the efforts and great commitment of Italian and American doctors. Today, DAN consists of more than a dozen regional branches, located all over the world.

Its most important task, which the organisation does very effectively, is to provide assistance to people injured in accidents underwater. However, that is not all. DAN also supports research in the field of diving medicine. The organisation meticulously collects and analyses divers’ medical data, diving profiles and accident data. Thus, through training and courses, through awareness, it effectively prevents the likelihood of diving accidents.

The 13th International DAN DiversDay will be held in Gdynia on 24 November 2017. Anyone can register free of charge and come to spend time with experts in diving safety and scientific research related to diving. It is worth spending some time with passionate people related to our favourite diving.

When the eagerly awaited Baltictech begins on Saturday, the DAN team will still be at our disposal, will be on site to provide you with information on benefits of membership at DAN, insurance coverage, i training opportunities.

It is worth mentioning that any person can become a DAN member, even non-divers. Moreover, being a DAN member we have the possibility of extending the insurance to our family members. And they do not have to dive.

Let us remember that proper and professional professional assistance and treatment of a diver after an underwater accident requires immediate reaction. Minutes count here. The DAN is the best in the world at meeting these exacting requirements.
