In recreational diving today, rebreathers represent some of the fastest growing technology. As the popularity of this equipment among users grows at a tremendous rate, it has become clear that proper protocols and recommendations must be developed to ensure the highest level of safety for users.

On May 18-20, 2012, several leaders in the rebreather industry will gather for just that purpose. Co-sponsored in part by DAN, PADI and the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS), Rebreather Forum 3, will address the major issues surrounding the technology and its implementation into sport diving.

“DAN is extremely proud to be able to summarize the global experience, along with PADI and AAUS, in the areas of practical solutions, technology, education and rebreather use. We encourage all divers who use rebreathers, or are considering doing so, to participate, ” said Dan Orr, representing DAN.

The programme for the meeting, which will last for 3 days, includes introductory presentations and exhibitions, supported by a scientific, professional discussion. Among those invited will be CCR specialists, equipment manufacturers, instructors, scientists and experts on safety issues.
