Today is 31 October, the date preceding All Saints’ Day. Just like every year, the media will probably report a lot about the struggle of Polish tradition, reverie and reflection with the influx of trends in the form of the Halloween festival and the joy and fun this pagan custom entails.

We all know very well how this day is celebrated in Poland, but we can also imagine what it looks like outside our borders. When asked about the symbol of Halloween, every child will answer – a pumpkin! And of course they will be right…

As we all know, water = life, and life is everything that surrounds us and us alone. This is why divers all over the world take everything they can do on the mainland with them under water. Why? Because it’s great fun! Cutting out “spooky” Halloween pumpkins is no different.

Where there’s Halloween, there’s a contest for the best cut-out pumpkin. Naturally, this had to go underwater, and in resorts all over the world competitions are held to find the most beautiful pumpkin.

Anyone who has ever tried to carve something out of a pumpkin knows that it is not easy, especially underwater! Nevertheless, it is a lot of fun and underwater competitions are becoming more and more popular, and in some places, such as Florida, they already have a 20-year tradition!

Although we don’t have the same underwater conditions in Poland as in Florida, Mexico or Spain, a similar competition would certainly find its followers. If you manage to implement this idea, be sure to share it with us!
