This year’s edition of the CJD2015 action is the seventh meeting of people who want to change the habits of Poles and set a good example. Although the name of the event brings to mind an ordinary action such as “cleaning up the world”, the initiative itself and its course differ significantly from such an image.
It is true that every year nearly 300 people walk around Dominickie Lake (nearby marshes, canals, neighbouring lakes, forests, tourist trails), but also a few dozen divers search the depths of the lake in the sweat of their brows.
As in previous years, each participant receives the same commemorative T-shirt, so on this day again you will see crowds of people in identical T-shirts flooding the area.
We will be everywhere where the services responsible for order cannot reach. And although we collect impressive and shocking amounts of rubbish every year (so far we have collected 13 tonnes of rubbish), this is not the main aim of the action.
The idea of the event is to draw attention to the problem of litter – Boszków alone is visited by 20 thousand tourists on one hot weekend day. With such a high tourist load, without awareness of tourists it is difficult to preserve the unique beauty of local nature. We direct our action primarily to the youngest, to build awareness of true ecology from an early age.
As you know, the CJD action is not only work, when we return to the action centre after the hard and difficult work, as in previous years we will start a family feast with numerous competitions, games and music concerts. The fun will continue into the evening and the climax will again be a joint commemorative photo of the participants of the action.
We can’t reveal the details of the entertainment part for now because, as usual, everything comes down to finances and contracts, but we hope for a positive development and even better fun and feast this year.
Because, from the very idea to the present day, the event has been grassroots and organised by private individuals, its finances have been based on private funds and sponsorship income. For years we have been supported by local authorities, and more recently they have taken an active part.
Therefore, your presence alone will already be a great help to us. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event. Without your presence, there would be no CJD action. “Together We Can Do More”
With kind regards
Mateusz Lubieniec
Organizer CJD2015
