The legendary American diving equipment manufacturer has once again expanded its product range. This time, a watch computer has joined the Scubapro family, ideal for those who frequently travel to warm seas. The new proposal of the brand taking care of divers’ equipment since 1962 is called “Chromis”.

A closer look at the new Scubapro item was possible at the biggest dive show – DEMA in Orlando, which took place from 6-9 November 2013. Today it is already available in most dive shops around the world.

As the first important element, what strikes the eye is the large and clear display. An aspect extremely important in watch computers, which are most often criticised for problems with reading data when diving conditions (light/visibility) differ from ideal ones.

What we find inside the “Chromis” apart from the standard features found in other models is a patented pool length calculation system, a dive mode with independent stopwatch, apnea/freediving mode and a gauge mode. “The Chromis will also allow us to use the nitrox mode (21-100%).

All dives can be exported to external media using the dedicated interface. The new Scubapro computer is available in black, white and orange.

Partial specification:

– large and clear display
– Choice of nitrox from 21% to 100%
– APNEA mode
– Gauge mode
– for everyday use as a watch
– Possibility to record and analyse dives and APNEA mode sessions on PC/Mac
– USB connection adapter
– ZHL8 ADT MB algorithm
– MB-Level algorithm (microbubble levels)
– stopwatch in SCUBA mode
– maximum depth – 120m
– patented stroke counter (swim mode)

Price: approx. 1550PLN
