We’ve been devoting a lot of space lately to the news that awaits divers in the 2015 season, so there could be no shortage of changes among the diving organisations involved in training. First up is the PADI app.

A completely revised PADI App is now available for devices using the most popular Apple iOS and Android systems. The new version of the app is designed to be more engaging for the user, increase awareness in diving and include everything related to diving.

The PADI App is the centrepiece of the PADI Digital Products Suite – a place where users can search for further information and access purchased digital products via the PADI Library App, which is integrated with the said PADI App.

Key features of the new PADI App include:

PADI centre and resort locator integrated with dive sites on ScubaEarth®.
The best dive sites and information on what to see there.
PADI social media and information channels.
Information on PADI courses along with the option to purchase Touch Series products and PADI eLearning® programs.
Dive tools, guides (e.g. knots, dive marks) and various dive planning checklists and reminders.
Ability to log dives from the PADI App on ScubaEarth®.
Access to PADI eCards™.
Direct link to PADI Pros’ website.
Access to PADI Gear™ collections.

Existing PADI App users will be able to use the new features once the app is updated, while new users can go to the App Store or Google Play Store and download the latest version of the app.

The PADI Library App in turn provides access to PADI’s extensive library of digital products. The new PADI digital products available from PADI Library use files used on iOS and Android compatible tablets and mobile devices. Currently, the available products include:

Open Water Diver Touch™
ReActivate Touch™
Equipment Specialist Touch™
eRDPML Touch™
Open Water Diver eManual (part of Open Water Certification Pak – Lite)
Digital RDP tables (part of all Open Water Certification Paks)
