There are some diving locations in the world, which seem to be a real paradise. While each of us may have different motivations and reasons for diving, when confronted with the beauty of some dive sites, our preferences cease to matter and we feel only an overwhelming sense of awe.

Such places certainly include Palau, and especially its flagship dive site – Blue Corner, where at the “wall” there, you can make the dive of your life. Jaques Coustau himself, who conducted his explorations in this region in the 70s of the twentieth century, stated that this is the most wonderful place in which he happened to dive.

Coral reefs and flora and fauna occurring in huge densities are the main attractions making this dive site so unique. However, you should not be fooled by its beauty, because it can be dangerous for inexperienced divers. The main danger here are strong currents.

It is they who mainly decide how our diving will proceed from the very beginning. If someone has never dived in the current before, he or she should be prepared for a new experience. Properly prepared and conducted current diving is much less tiring and very pleasant.

Interestingly, it was on Palau that the world’s first shark sanctuary was established, covering an area of 600 000 km². To realise how huge this area is, it would be easiest to relate it to the total area of France – about 675 thousand km²!

Diving into the beautiful waters of the Blue Corner, we are sure to fully appreciate such a magnificent reserve. The most common species found here include hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, rays, marlins, tuna, napoleons, barracudas, as well as a mass of smaller, colourful representatives of the local fauna
