Today, we would like to present you with another four speakers, invited for the technical diving conference – Baltictech 2013. The weekend of 23-24 November, when the event will be held, is getting closer, so it is worth making a survey and planning your stay in Gdynia. We hope that the brief outlines of the invited guests and their diving activities will help you decide what you would like to see.
Dariusz Grabiec is a Naval officer who has been involved in hydrography and surveying since 1989. Since 2008 he has been an employee of the Hydrographic Office of the Navy. In 2010 he became the president of the Association of Marine Hydrographers of the Republic of Poland. In his surveying activities he focuses on searching and locating small underwater objects using modern sonar techniques. Visiting Gdynia he will present the following topics: Searching for the wreck of ORP Orzeł – expedition “June 2013″ and Chemical ammunition dumped in the Baltic Sea – first results of hydrographic works within the operation of the CHEMSEA project.
Dominik Honzo Graczyk – Diver, NAUI diving instructor. He has been diving since 1996. In 2005, he joined the PZA Cave Divers Group, and has been diving since 2009. So far, he has made more than 1000 dives, of which more than 500 in caves. Many of them took place in previously unknown siphons. He is passionate about speleological explorations. Participant and leader of exploration expeditions to caves in many regions of the world (Caucasus, Crimea, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Tatra Mountains). Visitors to Baltictech will be introduced to the topic of diving cave exploration in the Balkans – Polish speleological exploration in the Balkans
Cmdr Lt. Artur Grządziel is the commander of the hydrographic survey vessel ORP “Arctowski”, about whose discoveries we often report on our website. Since 1998 he has been involved in hydrography, marine survey and wreck research. He completed postgraduate studies at the Naval Academy of Life Sciences (AMW) and international hydrography course in NAVOCEANO Gulfport (USA). He is a class “A” hydrographer, member of the Polish Association of Marine Hydrographers and author of several dozen articles on marine hydrography. He is interested in sonar technology, bathymetric systems and other measuring equipment used in search and exploration of wrecks. At Baltictech he will present the topic Bomber wreck on the bottom of the Baltic Sea – discovery, research and identification.
Kevin Gurr has been involved with technical diving since its inception in Europe. Being the first technical diving instructor outside the USA, he has guided and participated in many expeditions such as the first sport dives on the Britannic in 1997, treasure hunts in the Pacific (and several other locations around the world), film making and diving on the Titanic in MIR submarines. As an engineer and diver he has developed several products key to the diving industry from trimix computers to rebreathers. At Baltictech he will present the topics: Rebreathers. Facts, myths, Voodoo and other adventures and Anyone can build a rebreather… so why not try?
