Classics, chic and elegance in nautical style – Nautica celebrates 25 years of its watches and presents the unique Porthole watch with skeleton automatic movement. Warsaw, 23 May 2018. – To celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the creation of its first watch, the Nautica brand presents the limited edition Porthole timepiece. The modern model is a marriage of what is most important for the Nautica brand – innovation and functional, urban design, precision and inspiration from the climate of the sea.

The Porthole 25th Anniversary Limited Edition watch draws attention to its original transparent dial, which reveals how the automatic mechanism that drives the watch works. The rotor, also known as the pendulum, rotates and stretches a drive spring as the wearer moves the hand. The use of kinetic energy activates the hands and makes them move smoothly. In this way, Nautica reveals the craftsmanship and precision with which this unique timepiece has been made.

Maritime elegance

The details of the Porthole model refer to the sea. Inspiration from the water is evident in the twelve flags of the international maritime system, which are placed on the dial of the watch. They mark the hours instead of the classic numeral dial. When deciphered, the flags form the inscription “Nautica style”. Elegance is lent by the steel, silvered 44-millimetre case
in the shape of a porthole – a round window in the side of a boat. The timelessness of the model manifests itself in the black buckle strap, decorated with a delicate, minimalist mesh that refers to the theme of the sea and fishing boats.

Functionality and durability

The Porthole 25th Anniversary Limited Edition features a robust case thanks to a screw-down caseback and crown system. This additionally seals the mechanism and achieves a water resistance of 10 ATM. The strap is also water-resistant and made from a mixture of rubber and rubber. It allows to use the timepiece also during a cruise on the sea or lake. The Neobrite coating on the hands ensures comfortable use of the watch during night-time excursions.

The Polish premiere of the Porthole model took place at the Zachodni Brzeg restaurant in Warsaw. The background for the presentation of the water-inspired watch was the Vistula River – the queen of Polish rivers. During the meeting other Nautica models were also presented: Coral Gables, Jones Beach, Long Beach, Millrock, Porthole Slim, Bayside, Key Biscayne and Surfside.
