Last Saturday, September 12, in the waters surrounding Croatia’s largest Adriatic Sea island of Krk, Russian freediver Alexei Molchanov set a new freediving world record in the Constant Weight Bifins CWTB competition.

The athlete achieved his feat at the 2020 Adriatic Freediving Trophy, descending to a depth of 111 metres, which was enough not only to win, but also to improve the previous record of 110 metres, which also belonged to a Russian.

The tournament was organised and played according to the rules of the Association Internationale pour le Développement de l’Apnée – AIDA) and the World Confederation of Underwater Sports – CMAS.

Alexei improved on his previous record of 110 metres, which he set in August 2019, during a competition held in Roatán, Honduras.

It is interesting to note that the Russian, who is a multiple freediving champion and world record holder, used during his start a new model of CB2 fins by Molchanovs, for which it was an absolute and, as you can see, extremely successful premiere.
