Adam started his dive on Saturday afternoon. His goal was to reach a depth of 333 metres, which would have allowed him to beat Ahmed Gabr’s record of 332.5 metres. Unfortunately, something went wrong and the popular “Herb” did not return. His companions alerted the rescue services and a search operation was launched.
In addition to rescue services and volunteers, a remote-controlled ROV robot also searched for the body of the Polish diver. Eventually, divers found Adam at a depth of 284 metres.
This autumn it was already the third attempt to dive above 300 metres by Polish divers in Lake Garda. Unfortunately, in contrast to the previous two, it was unsuccessful and ended in the worst possible way.
