A remarkable story happened to Adel Devonshire. After 3 years, a British woman has recovered her camera, which was lost in the depths of the sea 3 years earlier. The fully operational device had been tossed by sea waves on the Swedish coast, 600 miles from where it was lost!

This remarkable story has its origins in Scotland, specifically while diving near St. Abbs in Berwickshire. It was then that the clip on Adel Devonshire’s camera broke and the device began its extraordinary journey to Sweden.

Although the owner searched for the lost item in 2013 on the shoreline near the dive site, she quickly lost hope of ever seeing her camera again.

How surprised she must have been when she came across a post online by 57-year-old Lars Mossberg, who found his camera among the rocks off the coast of one of Sweden’s small islands.

Although the casing was all scratched up and covered with all sorts of residue, the camera itself booted up the first time… and without first charging the battery! Some of the photos on the memory card were posted by Mossberg in the facebook group “Lost at Sea” and this helped the author to reconnect with her loss!

Just five hours after the photos were posted, they were spotted by a Devonshire friend who had been with her on an unlucky dive three years earlier.

“This is real madness! I’m still in shock! The fact that it was found shows the power of the internet and human kindness.” – said camera owner Adel Devonshire.

As it turns out, the British woman never bought a new camera and was very happy to get her previous device back.
